Experience
I earned my undergraduate degree in business from the State University of New York and am now pursuing a graduate degree in physics from Stony Brook University. I am passionate about physics and learning more about how the universe functions. I also adore math because it is a large part of my physics work. I currently tutor students in algebra 1 & 2, geometry, elementary math, middle school math, pre-calculus, trigonometry, reading, writing, arithmetic, algebra 3/4, pre-algebra, and English. My teaching philosophy is that if an individual sets a goal that is meaningful for them and they are willing to put in the time and effort necessary to achieve that goal, then it is attainable even if the steps required are boring or difficult. When working with students I take the time to find out what their true goal is in order to keep them focused on the end result rather than the fact that they may not necessarily enjoy the process. Often they will find they are enjoying the work as soon as they stop viewing it in such a negative light. I know that no two students are exactly alike and by learning more about them as individuals I am better able to serve them as a tutor.
