EducationI am a graduate student at Stony Brook university working towards a PhD in Mathematics.
My past degrees include a B.Math(Hons.) degree from the Indian Statistical Institute and an MS degree in applied mathematics from Stony Brook university.
ExperienceI have been an instructor for
- AMS 151 (Applied Calculus I) which introduces concepts of calculus (limits, differentiation, integration, etc. )
I have also been a recitation instructor for
- AMS 361 (Applied Calculus IV) which introduces solution techniques for ordinary differential equations.
I took the GRE in 2009 prior to joining Stony Brook, and my score was 1490/1600 (800/800 in Mathematics ,690/800 in Verbal reasoning). My TOEFL score, was 109/120.
I am a recipient of the Indian National Talent Search Scholarship, which is awarded annually to 1000 students per year. I am also one of 20 students to be selected to study for the B.Math(Hons.) degree in the Indian Statistical Institute via a nation-wide entrance test.
My prior coursework covers many areas of mathematics, both pure and applied, such as abstract algebra, analysis, topology, partial and ordinary differential equations, fluid mechanics, numerical analysis, algorithms etc.
HobbiesI love reading, listening to music, playing squash, watching avant-garde movies, all in my spare time of course :-D.
I have also recently started to learn a bit of the piano
